2009 Next project

Finished at last, the pram belonging to the Romany museum is now awaiting the upholsterer, the museum tell me it is circa 1880 I found most of the original lining as the paint was removed during the renovation
I would imagine that with iron tyres and cobble streets a rattle wasn't necessary !!!!

Just in........ something a bit different  ............above the finished article

I have been asked back to the museum early in the  new year to line another set of wheels on this vardo, Gordon tells me that this was once owned by Sir John Mills and has been used in film work including "Whistle Down The Wind"

Below are some pictures of the progression with this project

The kettle box that hangs under the back, the vine pattern matches the one on the side of the wagon

And the steps complete a job "well done"

2008
Revisiting the  Romany Museum  after lining the school  project and the wedding carriage, Gordon asked me to line a set of four wheels on a vardo that he was working on, A typical set of these wheels has in excess of 900ft of lining, Time consuming but very satisfying when finished

2008
I was asked by Gordon Boswell owner of the Romany Museum to line and decorate something a little different that he had made, a children's play house built to represent a "Romany Vardo" for children to play in at school, apparently Fern & Bramble are puppet characters that will live in it .
